Bold, brash, and full of sarcasm, Marielle has never had an issue charming those around her. Though she often comes across as easy-going, anyone who knows her well is aware that her quick smiles and sharp wit hide a softer side.A true warrior at heart, she loves nothing more than the thrill of battle and constantly strives to hone her skills.Having led a harsh life from a young age, Marielle often keeps herself closed off except to a select few.Skills/Abilities
As a Dragoon, Marielle is a master of the lance, having begun her training at a young age and rising through the ranks after achieving knighthood.Growing up in the Brume, she learned to defend herself using whatever weapon was available to her, no matter how unconventional it seemed.Marielle has recently taken an interest in astromancy and has begun learning healing magicks through her studies.

Though she managed to surpass her former rank in the Dragoons, rumour and gossip continue to follow her.- Those from Ishgard have also likely heard rumours about the common born Dragoon who married the formerly disgraced son of House Lacroix.A Helping Hand:- Have a job that needs doing? Biography
Marielle was born as a middle child of a large family in a small village just outside of Ishgard proper. At the age of 9, her village was ravaged by a dragon attack leaving herself and her eldest sister as the only survivors.Following the attack on their village, the sisters were taken to an orphanage in the Brume. As the years went on her sister managed to take up an apprenticeship with a tailor to provide for herself and Marielle. However, the long hours of work and harsh conditions of Brume eventually proved deadly. Her sister later succumbed to illness, leaving Marielle truly alone in the world.Following the death of her sister, Marielle resolved to take revenge on the dragons who took her life from her and took up the lance with the aim of joining Temple Knights. As she had no one to offer her formal training, Marielle took to studying the Knights wherever she could, observing other lancers at Grand Tourneys and often practicing what she had learned unto the early hours of the morning.One day while training by herself a veteran knight came across her and corrected her on her form. This became a recurrence over the following days and weeks with the knight eventually deciding to take her under his wing.Marielle became a capable warrior under his tutelage and entered her first grand tourney as soon as she was of age, eventually earning her place among the Temple Knights.During her time among the Knights, she first met her soon-to-be closest friend and rival Valleris Lacroix. The two would often butt heads and challenge each other, leading both to grow far stronger than they ever would have alone.Marielle soon earned a reputation as a ferocious warrior. She was selected to join the Order of the Knights Dragoon where she earned the position of Lieutenant of the Steelgarde squadron.Following an incident that led to Valleris' exile from Ishgard, Marielle became disillusioned with her role as a Dragoon, having been nearly ousted from the Order herself for daring to speak up for her friend. Despite her misgivings, she chose to remain in Ishgard, seeing the Dragonsong War to its conclusion and working her way up to the position of Captain.Shortly after the Dragonsong War, Marielle departed Ishgard in order to find her friend and help bring him home. With Valleris now welcomed back in Ishgard and the city slowly beginning to change for the better, Marielle has since retired from the Dragoons and has taken up the mantle of second in command of the Free Company Steelgarde.
